Spiritual & Emotional Well-being
-The spiritual and emotional well-being subcommittee exists to help provide survivors with a source of emotional support and healing as they navigate their recovery from Hurricane Florence. We do this by providing a compassionate presence at community events, emotional and spiritual counseling and/or prayer. We strive to expand our service to survivors through community outreach, partnership with places of worship and faith based organizations, as well as collaboration with community partners who address emotional health needs in New Hanover County.
The committee is currently comprised of two mental health providers from Hope4NC, representatives from the Harrelson Center and New Hanover County, and faith partners from One Christian Network and Street Angels.
We are currently seeking a co-chair for this subcommittee from the faith community as current co-chair is from the emotional support arm of the group’s mission. We feel it is important to also have leadership from the spiritual community on this committee.
Meetings are held every 3rd Tuesday at 3pm at the Harrelson Center.
