About.

New Hanover Disaster Coalition is an inclusive and diverse coalition of community leaders, faith groups, nonprofits and members of the public dedicated to the readiness, relief and recovery of all New Hanover County residents affected by disaster. With more than 70 participating faith groups and organizations, we work together to leverage resources and meet the needs of the community.

Pastor Jermaine B. Armour
Co-chair

Jermaine B. Armour is the Pastor and Visioneering Leader of the New Saint Luke Church. He holds the Master of Divinity and Masters in Christian Education Degrees from both the Interdenominational Theological Center and United Theological Center. In 2015 he was awarded the Honorary Doctor of Divinity Degree from Livingstone College for Outstanding Leadership and Progressive Ministry. He is a native of Buffalo, New York and is married to Tanya Denny Armour; they have two beautiful children, Jadah Alana and Jermaine Elijah.

Rev. Derek Macleod
Co-chair

Derek Macleod began serving as senior pastor to St. Andrews-Covenant Presbyterian Church, Wilmington NC in Jan 2018. A native of Halifax, Nova Scotia, Derek graduated from Dalhousie University in 1996 and earned his master of Divinity degree from Knox College of the University of Toronto. After studies in Peru and a term as an intern-chaplain at a veterans' hospital in Halifax, Derek served churches in Montreal, Quebec, Toronto, Ontario, Myers Park Presbyterian, Charlotte NC. Derek is married to Catherine Chappell, and they have three daughters. ​

Audrey Hart
Executive Director

Audrey is a graduate of the University of North Carolina-Greensboro, where she received her Bachelor of Science in Social Work. She has worked in case management, politics, and recruiting, and brings her passion of serving people and building a stronger community to the New Hanover Disaster Coalition.

She was nominated and received the University of North Carolina-Greensboro Pacesetter Award for the Health and Human Services Department in 2015. She is an active volunteer with the National Alliance on Mental Illness, Catholic Charities and other organizations. Audrey is originally from Montreal, Quebec and has been in North Carolina since 2003.
